Brie Underwood-Duemig is a passionate and dedicated dance instructor, choreographer, director, judge, and creative entrepreneur. Beginning her dance training at age nine, Brie had the privilege of learning from and competing under some of the industry’s most respected educators and creatives. Her mentors include Heather O’Hara, Alexa Moffett, Erica Sobol, Cheryl Copeland, Quinton Weathers, and many others, not to mention her own students, who continue to challenge, inspire, and refine her artistry every day.

From 2013 to 2020, Brie was the owner of Evolution Dance Collective and Director of EVOLVE Dance Company in Leander, Texas. She later served as Director of North Austin Dance Artists at The Dance Academy and Director of Rise Dance Collective at The Dance Spot in Round Rock, Texas. Across every leadership role, Brie became known for developing dancers who embody professionalism, strong technical foundations, artistic maturity, and authenticity beyond their years. Many of her former students now teach professionally, assist and teach on convention circuits, choreograph, and contribute meaningfully to the dance community and creative industries.

Brie’s teaching philosophy centers around individualized mentorship and intentional training. She is deeply committed to helping dancers develop not only technique and versatility, but also confidence, artistry, work ethic, and a healthy sense of self within the competitive dance world.

Now as Founder and Director of Fort Dance in Fort Worth, Brie is bringing her vision for a high-level, artistically driven, technique-focused training environment to the area, one rooted in mentorship, connection, and thoughtful training. In partnership with Heather O’Hara and the team at Body Lab, Fort Dance was created to cultivate both exceptional dancers and a strong, inspiring creative community.

In addition to directing and choreographing, Brie has judged for Intrigue Dance Intensive, Hype Dance Competition, 8 National Talent, and Fire & Ice Dance Competition, and has served on faculty with Tribe Dance Intensive. She also consults and mentors for dance studios and directors seeking to build sustainable, artist-centered programs.

Whether in rehearsal, in leadership, or in the studio, Brie is driven by a love for movement, artistry, community, and helping dancers feel deeply seen, challenged, and inspired.
